Application Privacy Policy

Introduction

Ingredients ID, LLC (“Company” or “We”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Ingredients ID application (the “App”) to scan and analyze product ingredients.

By downloading and using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

Device Permissions

By using the App, we will ask for permissions to access your device camera while you use the App only in order to scan ingredient lists for products that you voluntarily choose to scan and for no other purpose. You may revoke camera access at any time through your device settings. However, if you revoke such access, your use of the App will be impacted.

Information We Collect and How We Collect It

We collect limited information to provide the App, including:

• Personal Data. We do not require you to provide any personal data (e.g., name, address, or phone number) to use the App. However, you may elect to voluntary provide your phone number if you choose to create an account.
• Product Scans. When you use the App to scan ingredients through the permitted camera access, we collect data related to the ingredient lists and products scanned. This information is not linked to you and does not include any personal data.
• Other Information. When you use the App, we collect the time zone from where you are accessing the App.

We do not use automatic data collection technologies including cookies or web beacons within the App to monitor your activity or collection information about you.

Third Party Information Collection

When you use the App certain third parties may collect information about you or your device (including through the use automatic information collection technologies). These third parties may include:

• Apple, Inc.
• Google (Alphabet Inc.)
• Your mobile device manufacturer
• Your mobile service provider

These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect information (including personal data or usage data) about you when you use the App. We do not control these third parties’ practices including tracking technologies or how they may be used. You may be able to manage your data with such third parties including opting out of communications or otherwise managing permissions. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content or your rights to your data, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information that we collect through the App for the following purposes:

• To provide and improve the App
• Fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it, including any support requests.
• Carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.

Disclosure of Your Information

We will never sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. We only disclose your information in the following limited circumstances:

• To our contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business and provide the App (e.g., hosting provider (Google Cloud)), who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
• If required by law or by Apple or Google.
• With your consent.

Children Under the Age of 17

The App is not designed or intended to collect information from or to be used by children under the age of 17. Company does not knowingly collect or maintain any information from children under the age of 17.

If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 17, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 17, please contact us at team@ingredientsid.com

Data Security

We have implemented commercially reasonable measures designed to secure your information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

However, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we have measures in place, we cannot guarantee the security of your information. Any transmission of information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide.

Data Retention; Data Deletion

We will retain your information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you delete your account on the App or delete the App from your phone, we will delete any personal data (i.e., phone number provided to create the account). However, we may retain, use, and disclose aggregated information about the products and ingredients scanned through your use of the App. Such information will not identify, or be linked to, you.

You may send us an email at team@ingredientsid.com to request access to, correct, or delete any information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes to this Policy, we will notify you through a notice on the App.

The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. Your continued use of the App after we revise this policy means you accept those changes provided that material changes will take effect after 10 days of notice. If you do not agree to the material changes, please cease use and delete the App immediately. For the avoidance of doubt, non-material changes take effect immediately.
